Perera keen to seal the series

Not many teams have been able to win a cricket series on Indian soil in recent times. Sri Lanka, who has been thoroughly dominated by the hosts in the recent past, suddenly find themselves on the cusp of this rare feat. With the visitors 1-0 ahead in the three-match series, captain Thisara Perera admitted a fine opportunity awaited his boy on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka, spurred by Suranga Lakmal, clinched a sensational seven-wicket victory over India in Dharamsala on Sunday. While Perera called it a good win, he said his team was already focusing on the second match.

"This is a fine opportunity to win the series. The first game is history. I know this is a good opportunity for us to win. I don't think anyone else has done that in the last few years. So it is a good chance for us as we are leading the series. We want to win. I know my boys and I am sure they will give 200 to 300 percent. We are not under any pressure," Perera said on Tuesday.

"After a while it was our first win (in Dharamsala), now the focus of course is on the another match. We have to give it to our bowlers. They bowled brilliantly and kept to the right areas on that wicket. That is why we were successful."

Perera, who plays for Kings XI Punjab, said he expected it to be a high-scoring game. "I know the conditions here. I have been part of the Kings XI Punjab team for a few years and as usual it looks a very good batting wicket. It will be a high-scoring game. We have to handle situations well.

"We will take a look at the wicket tomorrow, chat to curator and will see. Generally I would like to stick to the winning team, but we will see what happens. From our side, we do our job and I know when we do that we can do something special. The effort the boys put in in the last game was amazing and I can't expect more than that."
