The final rites of Nagendra (38), the jawan serving with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, who died of cardiac arrest recently, was performed on Wednesday in the town.
The body, which reached the town on Wednesday, was taken out in a procession in the town.
The body was kept for public viewing in front of Taluk Office. Tahsildar Y M Renukumar, DySP P Vamshikrishna and a large number of people paid their last respects to the departed soul.
Nagendra leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
