The Supreme Court has given six months additional time to CBI team which is probing into the DySP M K Ganapathi suicide case, Ganapathi's brother M K Machaiah said.

The Supreme Court had earlier ordered that the report on the same should be submitted before December, but the investigating time had sought more time to probe the case.

In turn, the court had issued a notice to the family members of Ganapthi seeking their opinion. Advocate Yathindra Choudhury had submitted the opinion of the family to the court. It may be recalled that M K Ganapathi had committed suicide in a lodge in Madikeri on July 7, 2016. Before commiting suicide, Ganapathi had made allegations of harassment against Minister K J George, senior police officials Pranav Mohanty and A M Prasad.
