The National Green Tribunal on Thursday issued a notice to a property developer for raising constructions allegedly in the buffer zone of the Kaikondrahalli Lake near Sarjapur.
The green bench, headed by acting chairman Justice U D Salvi, sought a response from the Bengaluru-based SJR Prime Corporation Pvt Ltd within six days, acting on a petition filed by advocate
K S Ravi.
The tribunal posted the matter for further consideration on January 10.
The petitioner, represented by advocate P Ramaprasad, claimed that the constructions were raised in violation of the directions issued by the tribunal.
He contended that the authorities, particularly the BBMP, Lake Development Authority, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Bangalore Development Authority and others have turned a blind eye to the illegalities resorted to by the developer. The applicant has sought direction from the tribunal to seal the multi-storey construction.
