Bengaluru, dhns: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's statement branding RSS workers as terrorists is a nonsensical remark, said Prahlad Damodardas Modi, the younger brother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"RSS workers strove day and night during the India-Pakistan war and calling them terrorists is absolutely not acceptable. They shed their blood to protect the country and it is nonsense to make such a remark," he said here on Friday. Prahlad Modi was in Bengaluru to take part in Vivekananda Jayanti celebrations at Sri Krishna International School.

"Congress drags the issue of my sister-in-law (Jashoda Ben, Narendra Modi's wife) the way Kaurava's dragged Draupadi into politics. They (Congress) do not have anything else to talk. Their only job is to show people the wrong direction," he said.

During his speech at the programme, Prahlad Modi drew a parallel between Narendra Modi and Swami Vivekananda. "Both Narendranath Datta (pre-monastic name of Swami Vivekananda) and Narendra Modi share the same name and both are striving to protect our religion and dharma. Both of them are alive in every corner of India either with their ideologies or with their work towards dharma," he said.

He said he runs a small shop and the income from it was enough to sustain his family. "I do not wish to be in politics. Our family does not want to make a fortune out of it," he added.
