State govt introduced more schemes than Centre, claims Cong leader

Karnataka Congress in-charge Vishnunadhan on Wednesday said that state government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has introduced various pro-people programmes compared to the Union government.

Addressing the party workers of Chamundeshwari and Yelwal Block Congress Committee at the party office here Vishnunadhan said, "We cannot compare Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led state government with the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

Around 4.5 crore people in the state are the beneficiaries of 'Anna Bhagya scheme' and almost all the citizens are beneficiaries of one or the other schemes. He suggested the party workers to highlight the achievements of the government and the schemes while seeking votes from the people.

Vishnunadhan, who exuded confidence in getting a majority in the upcoming general elections said, "The people of the state are in favour of the Congress party and the overwhelming response during 'Sadhana Samavesha' of the CM, is a proof of this."

Chairman of the Varuna Assembly constituency Housing Programmes Awareness Committee Dr Yatindra Siddaramaiah said that though the state government launched various pro-people programmes, the party lag behind in popularising the schemes. Though no such programmes were introduced by the BJP, the leaders are misleading the people criticising the Congress, he said.

Congress district unit president Dr B J Vijaykumar, KPCC general secretary Malavalli Shivanna, secretary Patel Shivanna, former MLA Sathyanarayan, former minister B K Chandrashekar, the party leaders C Narendra, Narasegowda, and others were present.
