The RMC Yard police have arrested a man with a 7.65 mm pistol in Goraguntepalya.

The suspect has been identified as Bharath Singh, a carpenter, who lived in Kudur of Magadi taluk. He is originally from Madhya Pradesh.

He was caught red-handed by a team of police while he was trying to sell the weapon.

On Thursday morning Singh visited Goraguntepalya in search of customers to sell the pistol. The locals informed the police, who approached him in plain clothes posing as buyers. He was taken into custody.

The police said Singh confessed that the pistol belonged to one of his relatives, Lokesh, in Madhya Pradesh. Singh had also used it in a robbery in Madhya Pradesh recently. He had six rounds at home and decided to sell it for Rs 25,000.
