With the Cauvery water dispute final verdict expected to be announced on Friday, the Police are on high alert and security has been beefed up at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam in Srirangapatna taluk.
Security has also been stepped up at Cauvery Neeravari Nigam's office at KRS. Around 85 personnel of Central Industrial Security Force, five SI's have been deputed. All vehicles are being checked at checkposts. CCTV cameras have been installed at sensitive areas.
Mandya SP G Radhika held a meeting on Thursday evening in this regard. Cauvery Hitharakshana Samiti president G Madegowda said that he hopes that the verdict would be in favour of Karnataka.
MLA K S Puttannaiah said, "If the court orders to constitute a Cauvery Management Board, it would affect the state. However, in case the verdict is against the state, re-verification petition can be submitted."
