Remote, tech-savvy country in Africa is Black Panther highlight

Black Panther, this week's Hollywood release, is about T'Challa, who returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to take his rightful place as king.

It is the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, that prompts him to fight for his throne.

When faced with treachery and danger, he is forced to release the power of Black Panther (the superhero within him) to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.

Starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya and others, Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler.

Film buff Hrish Thota says, "It's a wonderful as a stand-alone coming-of-age superhero movie. T'Challa struggles to come to terms with the responsibilities of a king and questions age-old rules." It was the part where Black Panther didn't have real superpowers that caught his interest. "He was like any of us. He had the same struggles like us with life, love and friendship. He overcomes these with the help of the strong women in his life - his idealist mother, his tech-savvy sister and his activist girlfriend," he explains. Debolina Ray, (food blogger). who saw the movie on Thursday night, loved the strong storyline and crisp editing.

"I wasn't bored for even a second," she says, and is all praise for the 3D depiction of Wakanda, a mythical modern land.

Rumana Nazarli, (blogger), feels the action sequence at the end could have been more powerful. She says, "Maybe a few claws here and there would have added to the effect."
