Alva's Samskrithika Vaibhava-2018 to be held on February 24

Alva's Nudisiri Kodagu unit will organise Alva's Samskrithika Vaibhava-2018 at Gonikoppa GMP school grounds in Virajpet taluk on February 24.

Unit president K B Girish Ganapathi said on Monday that 350 artistes from Alva's Education Foundation will present cultural programmes.

MLA K G Bopaiah will inaugurate the programme, while Alva's Education Foundation president Dr M Mohan Alva, former MLC Arun Machaiah, JD(S) district president Sanketh Poovaiah will take part.

Alva's Nudisiri Kodagu unit working president M P Keshav Kamath said that a huge stage measuring 80X40 has been erected for the programme. As many as 5,000 spectators are likely to be present.

The programme will begin with the traditional dance of Kodagu, Ummathat and the welcome dance. The artists will perform "Mohiniyattam," Badaguthittu Yaksha prayoga "Srirama Pattabhisheka," "Gotipua" of Odisha, a group dance of Sri Lanka, "Banjara," Stick dance of Manipura, "Bharatanatyam," "Mallakamba," Dandiya dance, Lavani, Thenkutittu Yakshagana and a dance ballet "Vande Matharam."
