Floral replicas of Jain Basadi, Bahubali cynosure of all eyes

The flower replicas of Jain basadis, Bahubali statue, a dragon, and a variety of flowering and ornamental plants attracted a large number of people to the flower show, organised by the Horticulture department, in association with the district administration, Atmayojane, and Hemavathy Horticultural Associations, as part of the ongoing Mahamastakabhisheka, here.

The flower show has been organised on 1.5 acres of land on the premises of the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC). The flower show will be open for the people till February 26.

The main attraction of the flower show is the replica of 1,000 pillar Jain Basadi at Moodbidri, recreated using a variety of flowers. The 16 ft tall 'Dhwajasthamba' (flag pole) in front of the basadi, measuring 25 ft wide and 48 ft long, has been drawing a lot of attention.

The replicas of a 60 ft long dragon, waterfall, musical instruments like tabla and guitar, stars, octopus, and others created using colourful flowers add glitter to the show.

Millet Bahubali

A bust of Bahubali, recreated using millets, is another attraction. Similarly, vegetable carvings of Ganesha, Shiva, Buddha, Bahubali, seer Shivakumara Swami, Balagangadharanatha Swami, peacock and others are on display.

The flower show has evoked a good response from the people, who can be seen taking selfies near every replica, capturing the moments. There is also a display of ornamental plants, flowering plants, expo-cum-sale of vegetable and fruit seeds and garden implements.

Sasya Siri pharmacy sold ayurveda plants like Adusoge, Agnimantha, Nelabevu, Ashwagandha, Shankapushpa, Chakramuni, Pappalimintu, Lavanga tulasi, Sihi tulasi, Karpura tulasi and others.
