Violence broke out between BJP workers who were returning after attending the fishermen  convention in Malpe beach, Udupi district, and a group of muslims, on Tuesday night.

The Panambur police said four people were injured in stone throwing.

The BJP workers were returning in bus after attending the convention. They were shouting slogans. It was then that a muslim group of Bengare objected to it. The two groups got into an argument and at that point violence broke out.

Three BJP workers and a muslim youth who were injured in the clash were treated at a hospital.

Panambur police have registered the case and are investigating.

The injured people have been identified as Rahul, Lokesh, Vipin and Aamir.
