New assignments for top IAS officers

Thirty top IAS officers were on Wednesday given new assignments by the government, promoting some to the level of Secretary.

Gujarat cadre officer Gopishankar Mukim, presently in the state, will be the new Mines Secretary while P Raghavendra Rao, presently in his Haryana cadre, is the new Secretary for Chemicals and Petrochemicals.

C Chandramouli, a Tamil Nadu cadre officer, is the new Secretary in Department of Personnel and Training. Till he assumes charge, Home Secretary Rajiv Gouba will hold additional charge of DoPT.

Tarun Sridhar, presently in Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed Secretary in Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries. R Subrahmanyam, Special Secretary in Department of Higher Education, has been promoted as Secretary and given the same assignment.

Kerala-cadre official Inder Jit Singh, presently Additional Secretary (Coordination) in Cabinet Secretariat, was also promoted as Secretary with same assignment.

Surendra Nath Tripathi, presently Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in Ministry of Agriculture, will be the new Secretary in Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
