PFC to help boost power generation in Uttar Pradesh

Power-starved Uttar Pradesh has got a big boost, as the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) signed MoUs with the UP government power utilities for providing financial assistance of Rs 50,200 crore, which would result in a capacity addition of 4,760 MW of power.

PFC would provide the required financial assistance to UPRVUNL, UPPTCL and UPPCL for upcoming green field and extension and thermal generation projects at Jawaharpur, Panki, Harduagunj, Anpara, and Obra, besides developing coal mines, centrally-sponsored schemes, including IPDS, Saubhagya, and DDUGJY, and for strengthening of transmission and distribution network in the state.
