Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam declares Rs 786 cr interim dividend

Mini Navratan Public undertaking Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has declared interim dividend of  Rs 785.95 crore for 2017-18, and paid Rs 504.75 crore to the Centre.

The mini ratna company paid Rs 504.75 crore dividend to the central government, which holds 64.3% equity in the company, a spokesperson of the firm said.

The company had paid dividend of  Rs 1,137.57 crore to its shareholders in 2016-17. The dividend cheque was handed over to the  Union Minister of State for Power R K Singh by SJVN CMD Nand Lal Sharma.

Sharma said that during the financial year 2017-18, Ministry of Power had set target for SJVN to generate 8,950 Million Units of electricity under Excellent rating, whereas a total power generation was 9,015 Million Units from 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydropower Project.
