Women achievers honoured

Like every year, FICCI FLO Bengaluru organised 'FLO Women chievers'  awards on March 10, an event to celebrate womanhood and mark the occasion of  International Women's Day.      

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by chairperson Lakshmi Ishwar and guest of honour Vani Ganapathi which was followed by the ceremony.  

This time,  FLO Women Achievers' awards honoured eight women from categories like entrepreneurial excellence, social entrepreneurship, excellence in corporate leadership, best author, best filmmaker, best NGO work, upcoming sports personality and exceptional FLO member. The award  for excellence in literature was presented to Anuja Chauhan.

The award for excellence in entrepreneurship was presented to Richa Kar, the founder of Zivame.  

With 26 years of work experience in the hospitality sector and now the founder of Parikrama Humanity Foundation, Shukla Bose won the award for excellence in NGO Education.  

Manjul Gupta was presented  with the Women Achievers' awards for exceptional FLO member. She is one of the pioneers of skin care in the city and has about 10 outlets here at present. The award for excellence in performing arts was presented to Kanika Batra. She is the founder of Outperform and is a theatre artist, actor and director. Her first feature film, Project Papa, has already received a number of awards.  

For excellence in social entrepreneurship, Wilma Rodriguez received the women achievers' awards for making zero waste. She is the founder and CEO of Saahas Zero Waste.  

Standing confidently tall on the stage while receiving her award for excellence in sports was swimmer Damini Gowda. At the age of 19, she already has 100 national medals and 10 national records in her kitty.  

Vaishali Kasture was presented the award for excellence in corporate leadership. She inspired everyone in the audience  with her list of achievements as she walked to the stage.    

The award ceremony was followed by a supper theatre by Jagriti.  

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmi Ishwar, Chairperson, FLO Bengaluru says, "We are a pan-India organisation, and we have got a big role to play in women matters and issues. FLO is a great platform to recognise someone who wants to make an impact in a woman's life."
