Hilton set to double its presence in 3 yrs

Hilton Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its hotel network in the country in the next three years by adding 18 more hotels which are under construction.

The company on Monday launched its third  property in collaboration with Embassy Group in Bengaluru which has 500 keys. The property comprises of two brands -- Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn and located at Embassy Tech Village in Marathahalli.

Currently, Hilton operates 17 hotels across India. In Bengaluru, Hilton has tied up with Embassy and has one functioning Hilton Hotel in Embassy Golf Links, while two more, whose construction is ongoing, were sanctioned in Embassy Manyata in 2016. With Monday's two more projects in Embassy Tech Village, Tally has gone up to five.

Three of these five hotels are in the five-star segment, while remaining two, branded as Hilton Garden Inn are in three/four star category.

"We are very bullish about the Bengaluru market, one of the busiest hospitality markets in India," Sartaj Singh, President, Hospitality Business Embassy Group said. It is the second project of Hilton, that will see double pricing points. The new project will have 500 rooms -- 300 for Hilton and 200 for Hilton Garden Inn.

The new facility has a larger convention centre and is located at the front of the tech park, unlike the EGL project. According to Navjit Ahluwalia, Country Head and Senior Vice President, Hilton India there is a huge scope for hospitality sector in Bengaluru.
