Error in hall ticket leaves four SSLC students confused

Four private SSLC students were not allowed to write the examination as they came late to the exam centre, due to a confusion in the address mentioned on the hall ticket on Friday.

There was a lot of confusion for around 40 students appearing privately for the SSLC exam in the city. The students arrived at Sevabharathi Kannada Medium School on Court Road for the exam, as mentioned on the hall ticket, but were shocked to find out that it was not an exam centre.

They were then directed to Sevabharathi English Medium School on Chennipuradamole Road, which was one kilometre away from the Kannada medium school.

Students had to walk the distance. While 36 students reached the centre on time, four of them were late by a few minutes. The supervisors did not allow them to appear for the exam. Even after the students explained the confusion caused by the hall ticket, the teachers were not ready to listen and locked the gate.

Speaking to DH, Syed, one of the students said, "It is a mistake of the Department of Public Instruction. We were late for only five minutes. If the address was printed correctly, we would not have been delayed. We should be allowed for a re-exam."
