Hours after BJP President Amit Shah wrote a letter calling the exit of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as politically motivated the TDP chief and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu has described the letter a big lie, insulting the feelings of the people of the state.

In a scathing attack on Shah and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Assembly in Amaravati on Saturday, Naidu gave point to point explanation to the contents of the BJP chief's letter in his 75-minute long speech. Explaining reasons why his government objected to the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to root funds under Special Financial Assistance Measure in lieu of the Special Category Status, Naidu said, "You may have the habit of diverting funds for other purposes. Our government runs a transparent administration".

Taking strong objection to the patronage given to YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy in the PMO, Naidu observed that it sends wrong signals to federal investigation agencies probing cases against him. "YSR Congress leaders told you that you can easily cheat the people of Andhra Pradesh and you fell into their trap. We have seen what happened to the Congress for the similar blunder in 2014", Naidu thundered.

Naidu took exception of Shah saying that Congress was responsible for the lope sided division of the state and said that BJP as the national party was equally responsible for the injustice meted out to the residual state. He then asked Shah, whether the centre has the guts to review the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act and by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Parliament.

Did Modi Use Singh's photos?

Referring to Shah's allegation that the AP government had suppressed the fact of getting funds from the Centre in its attempt to claim credit, Chandrababu Naidu questioned, "Did Modi ever put Manmohan Singh photos in Gujarat schemes publicity, when he was the CM for over 12 years? Do you have the courage to show some?"

On Shah's comment that TDP's exit from the NDA is unilateral, Naidu questioned, "Do you wish to call my 29 trips to Delhi without any help from you as unilateral?" He said his party had pulled out of the NDA in a phased manner and giving time for the NDA to mend its ways.
