Nitte scientist gets ISCA award

Nitte Deemed to be University Centre for Science Education and Research (NUCSER) Assistant Professor Dr Biswajit Maiti received the prestigious Dr Mrs Gouri Ganguly Memorial Award for the year 2017-2018 in the recently concluded 105th annual meet of Indian Science Congress association (ISCA) held at Manipur University, Imphal, Manipur.

A press release stated that ISCA is a professional body under Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The award, which includes a citation, plaque and cash prize, was instituted by ISCA in 2002-2003 to recognise the contributions of young scientists of the country for their achievements in various fields of science and allows the awardees to showcase their research accomplishments in the form of a lecture during the award ceremony.

The meeting was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr Maiti was nominated for the award by Nitte (Deemed to be University) Director (Research and Development) Prof Indrani Karunasagar.
