Last Updated 03 May 2010, 16:42 IST

Disclosing this to reporters on Monday, Home Minister V S Acharya said Karnataka is working towards an agreement which will be a win-win situation for both the states. “The State government wants an amicable solution which will be in the interest of both States,” he added.

Karnataka wants to implement a 370 MW power project at Shivanasamudra. The State government is ready to give water to Tamil Nadu over and above the allotment made by the Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal. Besides, the Tamil Nadu government can take up its drinking water project near Hogenakal as per the rule book, he stated.

The according of permission is not related to the boundary dispute between the two states over Hogenakal. The boundary dispute will be resolved only after the joint survey, he added.
