The ICC’s official ticketing partner to the World Cup, kyazoonga.com, has already set in motion the first phase of the sale of tickets, through the internet.

The process was launched on June 1, and KyaZoonga chairman and CEO Neetu Bhatia said here on Tuesday that already, a sizeable number of tickets had been purchased by fans from staging countries India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, as well as from the United Kingdom and the United States.

“In order to ensure that tickets are available to a broad base, we have stipulated that no one person can buy more than four tickets per match,” Bhatia said at a joint press conference with Karnataka State Cricket Association secretary Brijesh Patel.

Tickets are available at the ICC’s official website iccevents.yahoo.com as well as at kyazoonga.com, and can be purchased with the Indian rupee, the Sri Lankan rupee, the Bangladesh taka and the US dollar.

There is only one match featuring India in Bangalore — which will host four World Cup matches — but there is enough on offer for the fans. India play a warm-up game against Australia, who also meet South Africa in a practice tie. In order to attract fans to the three matches not involving India, packages such as ‘Follow Your Team’, ‘Love Your City’ and ‘Be a Great Host’ are on the anvil. Additionally, attractive discounts will be on offer for non-India games, Patel added.

“Ticket prices range from a minimum of Rs 100 for non-India games and a minimum of Rs 200 for matches featuring India to between Rs 7000 and Rs 12,000 correspondingly,” Patel stated. The Rs 200 tickets will not be available online, and can be bought by local fans through stadium counters a few days ahead of the game.

The user-friendly website allows the prospective buyer to scan the potential view from various stands before deciding on which stand, and therefore which denomination, to prefer.

As the World Cup nears, tickets can be purchased at retail outlets as well as at counters inside the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Schedule of matches in Bangalore: Warm-up games: Feb 13: India vs Australia. Feb 15: Australia vs South Africa.

World Cup matches: Mar 2: England vs Ireland. Mar 6: India vs Ireland. Mar 13: Australia vs Kenya. Mar 16: Australia vs Canada.
