Man diagnosed with cancer kills kids, wife, self

Raju (35), a resident of K R Mohalla in  Mysore, his wife Radha (26) and children Manoj (6) and Pavan (5) are the dead.

Police said Raju was working as a driver in the KSRTC depot in Kuvempunagar. He was recently diagnosed with liver cancer.

Raju had come to Agastyeshwara Temple along with his family in a friend’s car on Sunday and had rented out a hotel room. He first killed his children by slashing their wrists and left the bodies inside the room with a suicide note. Later, the couple jumped into the river and committed suicide.

In the suicide note signed by the entire family, Raju has written that he was dejected with life after the death of his father and grandfather, and that nobody was responsible for their death.

“We request the authorities concerned to not perform a post mortem on our bodies and conduct the last rites in T Narasipur,” the note added.

Superintendent of Police Ramasubba, Tahsildar M K Savita, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajgopal and Circle Inspector Gajendra Prasad visited the spot.
The police have registered a case of missing as the bodies of Raju and Radha are yet to be traced. T Narasipur police have registered a case.
