BJP leaders plotted against me: Appachu Ranjan
‘Only Kodava community has been neglected’
''Some BJP leaders had plotted against me for not getting ministerial berth. Everyone knows who are they. The leaders who plotted against me should introspect. I will not speak about those leaders in low tone,'' said MLA M P Appachu Ranjan.
Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday, he said that members from all caste and community were given priority during the reshuffling of the cabinet. Only Kodava community has been neglected.”
“I grew up with Sangha Parivar. I built BJP when there was no scope for the party in Kodagu. I got elected as MLA three times. However, during the cabinet reshuffle, those who came from outside were given chance, thus cheated senior party workers.”
In fact, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and previous BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda had assured me of a ministerial berth during the formation of BJP government in the State.
However, during the cabinet expansion, I was not given a chance first time. Once again during the second time, I was not given a berth. Now, by stating that Kodagu MLA has been elected as the Assembly Speaker, I was again not given a berth. The people of the district want Kodagu MLA to be the District-in-Charge Minister. However, it has not been fulfilled, he lamented.
“I had not agreed to take back my resignation letter. However, it was State BJP President K S Eshwarappa who pursuaded me to withdraw my resignation. Based on the assurance by the President, I have withdrawn my resignation. I have not involved in any groupism. I support the leadership of B S Yeddyurappa. I feel sad that those who worked honestly for the party was not given justice.”
“I do not want to identify myslef with Reddy brothers. I am senior in political arena compared to Reddy brothers”, he said.
