Mumbai: In a massive attack on the Congress, BJP’s star campaigner and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday slammed the grand old party for coining the term Hindu terrorism and questioning the existence of Lord Ram.

Yogi Adityanath’s outburst came in Solapur, where he had come to campaign for BJP candidate Ram Satpute who has been pitted against Congress candidate Praniti Shinde, the daughter of former union home minister an ex-Maharashtra chief minister Sushilkumar Shinde.

“It was the Congress which questioned the existence of Lord Ram…it was the Congress which coined the term Hindu terrorism to insult the Hindu community…at that time, the UPA government was in power…who was the union home minister at that point of time…people from the same family are contesting the polls today,” he said.

This was an apparent reference to Shinde, a former Solapur MP and his daughter Praniti, who is a three-time MLA from Solapur City Central.

Referring to the Malegaon blasts, Yogi Adityanath said: “…at that time, they said that the involvement of Yogi Adityanath could also be there and they would ask the CBI probe…I told them to come with proof…”
