Shirts come in all shapes, sizes, colours and prices, but clearly this one takes the cake. It costs only Rs 10,000 and uses 100 meters of cloth.  While i some undividuals strive to make  something unique  in order to make a statement this man  confined himself to his comfort zone of tailoriing and stitched a shirt ---  more the size of a sleeping  bag.

Ever heard of a shirt good enough for a man to snuggle and snore into its pocket or even wide enough for him to sneak out from its sleeve after entering through its neckline? A little publicized shirt, measuring 20 feet in length and 10 feet in width, is the creation of Mahatab Alam from a small town of Phusro in Bokaro district of Jharkhand.

Describing the shirt as the realization of his big dream, Alam avers: "I have a satisfaction of having created something unique. It is very special to me and to the best of my knowledge it is the biggest shirt of its kind in the county."
Having red floral motifs in shades of deep blue, Mahatab's shirt sleeves measure 14 feet,  width 5 feet, pocket 5 (long) x4 (wide) feet, colour 7 feet, shoulder 7 feet, cuffs 5 feet and width of the cuffs 22 inches, besides 20 feet long and 10 feet in width. For the buttons he has used 17 carom board strikers that really make the shirt look truly different

Ask Mahatab what inspired him to stitch the shirt he replies: "Every individual is his own ambassador and responsible for the image society carries about him. I am a tailor master and, to be honest, a profession like this is not held in esteem in our society. But it was my sheer urge to be different from those who are in tailoring that prompted me to do something unique."

With a shoe string budget and limited scope in tailoring, finding a way to make a mark for a tailor-master was not easy. "One day an idea came to mind to try to stitch a pocket in which I could sleep. Soon after that I packed in all my creative energies behind this endeavour to create a giant shirt," said Mahatab Alam talking to Deccan Herald.

For Mahatab Alam's to realize his big dream was not easy, apart from the selection of cloth, he had to work hard to give befitting measurements to the different parts of the shirt.

"Apart from being massive, the most striking attribute of this shirt lies in the fact that it has been stitched with utmost care which is evident from the accurate measurement of different parts.

And thus it has assumed shape in accordance with the norms of stitching practice," said Md. Kamal, who also runs a tailoring shop in Phusro.
The tailor master worked hard for four to five hours every day for six days to complete the shirt.

"Before starting on my project, various aspects were meticulously taken into consideration. And to avoid botheration of washing and ironing, I preferred the colour of red floral motifs in the shades of deep blue for the shirt.
Again this cloth is quite wrinkle-free and washable at home. Over and above all shirt weighs only 10 kg which makes it easily portable," said Mahtab.
"The entire exercise exacted an investment of Rs. 10,000, as most of the money was spent on buying 100 meters of cloth," he added.

Interestingly, Mahatab kept his project secret from his family members fearing their disapproval. But much to my amazement, my parents and friends were impressed with my effort. "Mahatab effort is indeed commendable. We are proud of him," said a Dandu Prasad, Mahtab's neighbour. Besides, Mahatab also received rich accolades in past after he put up show near Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi.
