Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta became the talk in town on social media after releasing a necklace and earrings resembling old-school phone cords and pricing them at $2,000, roughly Rs 1,45,189.
Instagram page Diet Prada took the chance to roast the brand whose necklace that is made with enamelled sterling silver and is available in shades of green, blue and white. Diet Prada compared it to telephone cords available in different colours.
"They are really just reaching into the junk drawer eyes closed and slapping 2k on whatever comes out," wrote one user.
"Who knew I could sell my old landline chords for $2G’s" wrote another.
A user also wondered whether "gen Zers who have never experienced a landline" were going to buy this.
"Grandma called. She wants her phone cord back !!" said another user.
One comment that had many in splits was, "I'll take the wireless for 3k?"
