1 killed, 5 injured in two road accidents

 A man was killed and five persons were injured in two accidents across the capital in the last 24 hours, police said on Monday.

A man was killed, while another injured at Delhi Cantonment in south-east Delhi in the wee hours of Monday.

Pushkar, 27, was riding his bike and his friend Rakesh, 26, was sitting pilon when the accident took place at the domestic airport flyover around 3 am.

A passerby informed police that two injured persons were lying unconscious beside a mangled bike.

“We rushed to the spot and found they were hit by a speeding truck. They were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared Pushkar dead. Rakesh, who is critical, has not been able to give his statement till now,” said the officer.

Meanwhile, the truck driver fled from the scene with his vehicle. “We have registered a case and are looking for the absconding truck driver,” said that officer.

In the second incident, four persons were injured after a vehicle rammed into their car on Phirni Road in west Delhi’s Mundka around 9 pm on Sunday.

Sajjan Lal Yadav, 35, Aadil, 21, Jishan, 19 and Aamir, 18 were going for a get-together when their car was rammed from the rear side, police said. The impact of the collision made Yadav lose control of the car, which swerved towards a road divider before colliding with it.

They were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.
