A day after the Punjab cabinet stamped its disapproval for the proposed controversial National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), the Congress on Saturday trained its guns on the ruling combine questioning its moral and constitutional authority.

Congress said the SAD-BJP alliance was not authorised to take policy decisions since it was only a caretaker government.

Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh said fighting terrorism was the collective responsibility of both the Centre and the states.

He criticised the Punjab CM in particular for blindly toeing the line taken by the BJP purely for partisan considerations and “overlooking” the national interest.
