The JAC has demanded the withdrawal of cases filed against the employees, lifting of ESMA and action on the police for manhandling its leader Swami Goud at the RTA office at Khiaratabad. Meanwhile, Swami Goud and others arrived at the Secretariat for talks with the group of ministers on employees’ issues and handed over a letter of demands.
While talking to reporters, Swami Goud said: “On the one hand, the government is inviting us for talks and, on the other, it is booking cases against us. The atmosphere is not congenial for negotiations.”
An equally adamant government on Wednesday also made it clear that Group II examinations would be held as scheduled on October 15 and 16 and there was no question of postponing the exams as demanded by agitators. Two lakh candidates are expected to appear for the state service commission examinations in 204 examination centres in 10 districts in Telangana.
The commonman is put to hardships as the administration remained paralysed and power outages are getting longer day by day, as the coal production in the state-owned Singareni Collieries continued to be crippled. The loss to the government was estimated at Rs 100 crore every day.
