Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan has been summoned by the Thane police in connection with an Indian Premier League (IPL) betting probe.
The 50-year-old has been directed to appear before the police on Saturday.
The name of actor Salman Khan’s younger brother cropped up during the interrogation of bookie Sonu Jalan alias Sonu Batla, who was arrested by the anti-extortion cell of Thane Police, a police official said.
Sonu purportedly had underworld links with Dawood Ibrahim’s gang.
During the interrogation of Sonu, sleuths found that he was in touch with prominent people including Bollywood celebrities.
The entire IPL scam involves some of the biggest bookies operating from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and New Delhi.
Sonu has connections in countries in Pakistan, UAE, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
