“During my previous tenure as chief minister, there were financial crunches and also lack of schemes but this time many programmes initiated by both Centre and the state," he said at a function at Pinkcity Press Club here.
All the schemes are running successfully. There may be some negligible exception of problems in execution of the programmes but feedback, we are receiving from all parts of the state, is quite good, Gehlot said.
Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojna, housing policy for poors, free generic medicines in government hospitals, Rajasthan guaranteed delivery of public services Act-2011 and many other programmes were implemented by the government, he said. We are also planning to increase the number of free generic medicines from 200 to 400 by January and hope that it would further benefit people in the state, he added.
“We took initiative to make housing available for poor people. For this purpose, we took loan from HUDCO,” he said. Gehlot assumed office as the 23rd chief minister of Rajasthan on December 13, 2008. His first tenure as the state CM was from 1998-2003. Meanwhile, the opposition BJP released a booklet highlighting shortcomings of the Gehlot government.
“Law and order situation deteriorated in the state during the last three years and Gopalgarh violence is its recent example,” BJP state chief Arun Chaturvedi said on Monday. He also accused the ruling Congress of “promoting corruption” and stalling growth and development.
