BJP candidates, who have been fielded from 198 wards for the BBMP polls, took oath to convert Bengaluru into a better City.

All the 198 candidates gathered near the Kempegowda statue in Corporation office around 12.30 pm on Thursday, for the oath-taking ceremony. Union Minister Ananth Kumar, D V Sadananda Gowda, MLAs and MPs representing Bengaluru attended the event.

Former DyCM R Ashoka administered the oath. “It was our commitment to work hard to realise the goal of converting Bengaluru into a better City,” said a leader. The candidates pledged to be loyal to the electorate if elected and work in co-ordination. “There were no speeches and we departed after taking the oath. The entire event concluded in about 20 minutes,” he added.
