The Budget session of Parliament begins on Monday with the address of President Ram Nath Kovind to the joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the Economic Survey to Parliament soon after the conclusion of the President's address.
Jaitley will present the last full Union Budget of the Modi government on February 1 where he is expected to announce sops to the farm sector, which is facing crisis.
While the government is raring to push its agenda such as the triple talaq bill and the amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act, the Opposition is seeking to corner the government on issues such as incidents of rape and atrocities on women, alleged attacks on the Constitution and institutions, besides the recent incident of communal violence in Uttar Pradesh.
A section of the Opposition is also planning to push for discussion on the differences in the top judiciary that prompted four Supreme Court judges to hold a press conference to seek redressal on issues.
The opposition also hit out at the government for curtailing the number of sittings of the Budget Session.
Opposition leaders are meeting on Monday to plan their joint strategy for the Budget session.
