A huge amount of cash has been seized from different parts of UP in the last few days, police said.
The money may have been for use in the election campaigns of various parties, police said.
The authorities have recovered Rs 8 crore and 10 kg silver from different districts in the last three weeks.
The EC has also expressed concern over the recovery of huge amount of unaccounted cash. It has directed poll officials to step up vigil in sensitive areas.
Chief EC S Y Qureshi on Saturday said if no documentary proof of large amount of cash is available, then the money will be confiscated.
