Chendanda team emerged champions in the Kulletira Cup Hockey tournament, held at General K S Thimayya stadium in Napoklu on Sunday.
Chendanda blanked Anjaparavanda 2-0.
The match which commenced at 12.10 pm was interesting since the beginning.
Bopanna of Chendanda scored a goal and later Olympian Nithin Thimmaiah scored another goal for the team.
Anjaparavanda could not successfully make use of the two penalty corners.
Anjaparavanda was champions in Alamenganda Cup in 2008 and at Madanda Cup in 2013. Vishma, a female player had played for Anjaparavanda.
Kulletira family Pattedar, Kulletira S Madappa presided over the stage programme.
Olympian Maniyapanda M Somayya, SP Rajendra Prasad, Reva University Vice Chancellor Dr S Y Kulakarni, Chenanda Kishan, Senior Journalist M A Ponnappa, DySP Sundarraj, and Bengaluru Kodava Samaja President Mandera Ravi Uthappa were present.
