A complaint has been submitted to City Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar in connection with raising slogans in favour of Pakistan during Congress Vijayotsava here.

The complainant has accused former MLA J R Lobo, Samarth Bhat, former corporator Padmanabha Amin, Corporator I Ramadas Prabhu and others of raising slogans in favour of Pakistan and committing a seditious act against the Government of India.

In a complaint, Jaya Prashanth, a resident of Shakthi Nagar, said one Samarth Bhat had streamed a live video on his Facebook and it was downloded by Jaya Prashanth. The video was deleted by Bhat from the Facebook later.

The complainant has further said that the raising the slogans “Pakistan Ki Jai” has incited the people gathered in an unlawful assembly. They were also promoting disharmony and feelings of enmity between different groups of the society by raising such slogans. This is an act of sedition, a heinous crime against the integrity and sovereignty of India, the complainant has said and appealed to the city police commissioner to take stringent and stern action against the accused.
