Foreigner's body found in Paharganj guest house

 A decomposed body of a foreign woman was found at a guest house in Paharganj area of central Delhi on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The body was found in room number 203 of Hindustan Guest House, which was booked under the name of Manzoor Ahmed, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir. He is absconding.
The incident came to light after the staff of the guest house approached police reporting that a foul smell was emanating from the room.

“When we reached the spot, the woman’s body was found lying under the bed,” a police official said.

According to additional deputy commissioner of police (central) Aslam Khan, an initial investigation revealed that the woman was killed three to four days back.

“We are yet to establish her identity. She is probably in the age bracket of 25-30,” Khan said.

Police have preserved the body at Lady Hardinge Medical College for post-mortem.
A case of murder under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

“We investigating the matter and searching for Manzoor Ahmed to ascertain the sequence of events,” the official added.
