Four people of the same family were killed in a head-on collision between a SUV and a government bus in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The accident occurred near Murakatti cross on the Dharwad-Huliyal route.
Four people in the SUV were killed on the spot and five were grievously injured in the mishap.
The deceased have been identified as Imran Makam Dhara, Afreen Makam Dara, their daughter Alsia-- all residents of Dharwad Kanti Ooni area. The driver of the SUV also died.
The Alnavar police inspected the scene of the accident and shifted the injured to the district hospital.
A case has been registered at the Alnavar police station. Investigations are on.
