Irfan Pathan is no stranger to controversy for sharing photos on Facebook. This time, Irfan Pathan chose to share a photo of him sporting a rakhi, with the message "Happy rakshabandhan everyone" with the hashtagged 'rakhi'.

This immediately sent the self-styled guardians of Islam to a fit, with many swooping down upon the cricketer for doing "un-Islamic" and "haram" things and that it was "another religion's culture and that we (musilims) cannot imitate it".

Only this time, Irfan Pathan had something to say about it: "Using foul language. Talking each other rudely on basis of religion. It shows nothing but ur own learning which some ppl have gathered in their mind over the years.stop this nonsense of putting each other down" (sic) on his Instagram profile. Kudos to Irfan for putting his stand forward and giving the trolls something to think about (if they can).

A few weeks ago, Irfan had shared a photo of himself with his wife, Saira Baig, which garnered significant criticism from self-styled guardians of Islamic culture and religion.

The photo was hit by a number of comments, all generally raning to the tune of "please hide your wife's arms and face, it's un-Islamic" to "please wear full-sleeve shirts, it's un-Islamic and haram", the latter to Pathan himself.
