A scuffle between schoolchildren of two communities in east Delhi’s Trilokpuri on Monday was prevented from snowballing into a communal flare-up.

Some members of one community had gathered outside the local police station, but police managed to convince them to settle the matter amicably.

Police termed it a “minor quarrel” between the students of a government school in Trilokpuri’s block 27 which was the worst-hit during the month-old riots.

No official complaint with police was registered at the time of filing this report.
A minor from one community was allegedly beaten up outside the school by some boys belonging to another community.

Interference by elders saw the matter sorted out then. But on Monday, another scuffle involving the same boys was reported.

Police were approached by the elders, but police said they were persuaded to sort out the matter peacefully to prevent any more communal tension.
