India 172/2 in 2nd ODI against New Zealand

India were doing well at 217 for the loss of two wickets from 37 overs. Skipper Virat Kohli was batting on 40 and Ambati Rayudu was on 19.

India were 249 for 3 after 42 overs. Ambati Rayudu were batting on 37 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni was on 7.

India were 254 for 3 after 43 overs with Rayudu on 40 and Dhoni on 9.

India are looking to accelerate their scoring in the final few overs of their innings. The 44th over yielded 6 runs and India were doing well at 260 for 3.

Seven runs from the 45th over as India move to 267 for 3. The run rate is close to 6 now.

WICKET: Rayudu out for 47, caught and bowled by Ferguson in the fourth ball of the 46th over. New Zealand have struck at a crucial time. But Dhoni comes up with a useful boundary. India have not been getting the boundaries and this is a welcome change. India 276 for 4, thanks to 9 runs off the over.

Dhoni smashes four off the first ball of Boult's over. A total of 7 runs off the over. India are 283 for 4 after 47 overs. Dhoni is on 29 and Kedar Jadhav on 1.

Dhoni begins the 48th over on a good note for India with a boundary and 6 runs in all off it. India are 289 for 4.

India are really piling the runs on with a four off Jadhav in the first ball of the 49th over. Dhoni smashes a six off the last ball of the 49th. India smash 14 runs off the over and are 303 for 4. Dhoni on 42 and Jadhav on 7.

It's raining runs now. Ferguson is being clobbered in the last over of the innings. Three boundaries and a six from the over, with a total of 21 coming off it. India end their innings with a good score of 324 for 4 in 50 overs. Dhoni and Jadhav remain unbeaten on 48 and 22 respectively. The run rate is 6.48.

Colin Murno and Martin Guptill get things started for New Zealand. The Kiwi batsmen have their task cut out. India begin their attack with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Seven off the first over, including a boundary from Munro in the last ball. Munro nearly run out in the very first ball.

Pacer Mohammad Shami begins the second over and just three off it. Munro on 6 and Guptill on 4 and the hosts are 10 for no loss.

Guptill launches Bhuvneshwar for fours in the third and fourth balls. It looks like the batsmen are getting into the groove now. Thick edge off Guptill in the fifth ball and wicketkeeper Dhoni drops him. Nine runs from the over and New Zealand are 19 without loss.

Chance for India as Guptill sends one to the slip off Shami. But just short. NZ 21 for no loss after 3 overs.

WICKET: India strike. Great catch from Yuzvendra Chahal at the boundary off Bhuvneshwar. Guptill returns to the pavilion after scoring 15. New Zealand 23 for 1 after five overs. Kane Williamson is the next man in. Munro on 7.

Munro thrashes Bhuvneshwar for a six in the third ball. Eight off the over and NZ are 33 for one from seven overs.

WICKET: Shami being thrashed all over in the eighth over by Williamson. Six, six and four from the first three balls. Expensive over for India but Williamson is bowled for 20 in the fifth ball. India strike again and NZ are 53 for two after eight overs. Ross Taylor is the next man in.

Maiden ninth over from Bhuvneshwar. NZ 53 for two.

Pacer Vijay Shankar brought in. Four from Munro in the fourth and fifth deliveries. Ten runs off the 10th over and NZ 63 for two. Munro on 23 and Taylor on three.

Yuzvendra Chahal brought in as well and in the 11th over. Two runs off the over and NZ are 65 for two.

WICKET: Chahal traps Munro leg before off the very first ball of the 15th over and four from it. Tom Latham is the new batsman. NZ 88 for 3.

Jadhav dispatched to the fence in the fifth delivery. At the end of the 16th over, NZ are 97 for three. Taylor on 20 and Latham on nine.

Three runs off the 17th over from Chahal. NZ 100 for three.

WICKET: Brilliant work by Dhoni in stumping Taylor (22 runs) in the first delivery off Jadhav. The third umpire rules it out. Henry Nicholls comes in. NZ are 103 for four in 18 overs.

NZ 113 for four from 20 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav comes in now. Four runs off the over and NZ are 117 for four after 21 overs.

Good over from Jadhav and just three coming off it. NZ 120 for four after 22 overs. Latham on 21 and Nicholls on 9.

Another good over for India and just three off it. Kuldeep has done well. NZ 123 for four after 23 overs.

Latham thrashes Jadhav for a six in the fifth ball. He is on 32 and Nicholls on 12. NZ 134 for four after 24 overs.

WICKET: Yadav traps Latham leg before in the third delivery. He gets a hand to Colin de Grandhomme's shot but cannot hold on. End of an eventful 25th over. NZ are 138 for five.

Six runs off the 26th over, including a boundary from Nicholls. NZ are 144 for five.

Great catch by Ambati Rayudu at the boundary off Yadav in the last delivery. Colin de Grandhomme is back in the hut after scoring just three. NZ are 146 for six after 27 overs.

Doug Bracewell is the new man in. Nicholls smashes a four in the third delivery off Shami. Bracewell hits a four in the last ball. NZ are 156 for six after 28 overs. Nicholls on 24 and Bracewell on five.

Nicholls picks the first delivery off Yadav. The ball is in the air but Jadhav can't see the ball due to the floodlight glare. Just one run off the 29th over. NZ 157 for six.

Eight runs from over number 30 and NZ are 165 for six.

WICKET: Yadav sends Nicolls back for 28, caught by Shami in the fourth ball. Ish Sodhi lasts only a ball and is clean bowled behind the legs. NZ in all sorts of trouble at 166 for eight after 31 overs.

Sober 32nd over with just three runs off it. NZ are 169 for eight.

Bracewell launches Yadav for a six in the third delivery. Eleven runs from the 33rd over and NZ are 180 for eight.

Nine runs off the 34th over from Chahal. NZ are 189 for eight.

NZ bring up 200 for the loss of eight wickets in the last ball of the 35th over. Bracewell fighting a lone battle and at 40. Ferguson on five.

Bracewell (49) and Ferguson (six) are battling it out there. NZ 210 for eight after 36 overs.

Just two runs from the 37th over and Bracewell brings up his 50. NZ are 212 for eight.

Bracewell going after Bhuvneshwar now and a four off the second delivery. Six runs off the 38th over and NZ are 218 for eight.

End of the 39th over and NZ are 224 for eight. Bracewell on 57 and Ferguson on 12.

Bracewell skies the second delivery off Bhuvneshwar and caught by Shikhar Dhawan. New man in Trent Boult thrashes a four and six off the fourth and fifth deliveries respectively. NZ 234 for nine after 40 overs.

WICKET: Vijay Shankar laps up a shot from Ferguson off Chahal for 12. New Zealand are all out for 234 from 40.2 overs.

India win the match by 90 runs.

India go 2-0 up in the five-match series.
