Twenty three-year-old Rekha Tyagi had been visiting B R Ambedkar University in Agra for several months to get her marksheet corrected so she could apply for the research entrance test.
But her run from pillar to the post ended on Friday with her death though the marksheet still remained elusive.
Rekha, who had visited the offices of the university on Friday, was found lying unconscious before the gate of the varsity around noon. She was rushed to the hospital but died a little later.
“My daughter was very disturbed, she appeared depressed for the past few weeks. She kept telling me that the officials were not giving her the corrected marksheet’’, said Satish Tyagi father of Rekha.
Her had cleared the postgraduate examination in Sociology from an affiliated college of the university. But her final year marksheet did not contain marks of the first year examinations.
Sixteen reminders sent.
“She had sent as many as 16 reminders to the varsity for the marksheet and but there was no response’’, Satish said.
Rekha’s parents have lodged a report in this connection with Hari Parbat police station in Agra and the matter is being investigated.
The body has been sent for post-mortem. Action will be taken after the report of the autopsy is received, police said.
