Rajput outfits on Wednesday vandalised malls and disrupted train  movement in Uttar Pradesh and staged demonstrations to protest the  screening of Padmaavat.

According to police sources here, members of the outfits smashed window panes of shops and indulged in stone pelting at a mall in Meerut town. They also tried to enter a mall in the state capital but were thwarted by the police.

Reports of Rajput outfits staging demonstrations were received from Saharanpur, Shamli, Mathura and other places.

In Mathura, the outfit members squatted on the railway tracks disrupting train movement on the Mumbai-Delhi section.S

The film is set to release in UP on Thursday and the police have been deployed at cinema halls and malls.
