At least seven people, including three policeman, were killed and 25 others were injured in a suicide blast near a police station here in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan today.

The incident occurred in Bhatta Thal Market in Sarband area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

According to initial, reports the blast occurred in the limits of Sarband police station that killed seven people including three police personnel and injured 25 others.

The injured included women and children.

A police sub-inspector identified as Bukhari Shah was also injured in the blast.

The injured persons were shifted to the Khyber Teaching hospital (KTH) for treatment.

Rescue teams had reached the blast site.

Police and armed forces has cordoned off the area and started search and rescue operation.

The blast caused damaged several nearby shops.
