Her hidden potential was soon unearthed, when she was noticed for her creations. Lapping it all up, she got herself a degree in textile designing from Maharani College to have her basic fundas right.
That was fifteen years ago and today, give her a plain fabric in any texture and she would transform into an haute couture.
“Fashion to me is timeless, wearable, exclusive, sensible and practical. My clients can vouch for that. Samridhi is the outcome of years of hard work and a baby step in this direction,” says Geetha.
It is an exhibition which provides a platform for artistes and designers to showcase their creations. It is a coincidence that 80 per cent of the exhibitors are women.
The first edition of Samridhi is currently on at Hotel Regalis. It brings a heady medley of ethnic wear, designer wear, accessories and home décor but interestingly it will only have products which are uniquely designed and are not mass produced.
