Prohibitory orders extended in the city of Belagavi as tension has gripped few communally sensitive localities after election results were announced particularly during celebrations.

Stone pelting was reported and a vehicle was set ablaze.

Prohibitory orders under section 144 have been extended till 18th morning said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Seema Latkar.

"Situation is under control. Extending of prohibitory has not gone well with winning candidate, supporters and party worker who are in celebratory mood," said Latkar.
