Former minister B Ramanath Rai, facing allegations of being responsible for the murder of RSS activist Sharath Madiwala, visited Sri Nalvar Daivasthana in Kanathoor, Kasargod district, and submitted a plea.

As a plaintiff, Rai visited the temple and request the deity for justice. “My name was unnecessarily dragged into the case. I am hurt. If I committed a mistake, I should be punished. Those who made allegations should give a clarification on it,” he reportedly told Daivasthana head.

It is a popular belief that for those who believe, this temple acts as a ‘court.’ It has been serving as a place of worship and court in delivering justice for several centuries. After a request is placed for justice, the temple authorities issue notice to the defendants to visit the temple on a particular date.
