Rajasthan bagged the second best national award in ‘comprehensive development of tourism’ category on Wednesday.
President Pratibha Patil gave the award to Rajasthan principal resident commissioner Seema Bahugana in New Delhi. Madhya Pradesh was given the ‘best state’ award.
Jaipur-based Raj Vilas Hotel of the Oberoi Group won the ‘best 5-star hotel’ award, while Shiv Niwas Palace at Udaipur won the ‘best property’ award in the ‘heritage hotel’ category.
Lakshya Raj Singh Mewar took the award on behalf of Shiv Niwas Palace. The ceremony was held in Delhi.
