A sum of Rs 2.90 lakh in cash which was being transported in a car was seized at Pumpwell Check Post in Mangaluru on Saturday.
The cash was transported by Rajashekar Andinje of Belthangady.
The matter is being verified by flying squad and surveillance team, said DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya.
Arrested after 36 years
The Belthangady Police arrested a man booked under attempt to kidnap, 36 years after he evaded the law, at Lorettopadavu in Bantwal.
The arrested is Antony Rodrigues, a resident of Maddadka in Belthangady taluk, police said.
He had attempted to kidnap Ibrahim in an autorickshaw on June 7, 1982, the police said.
